To protect our environment, the Edelweiss Haus has been created to be as efficient as possible.  This includes:

• Solar water heater - evacuated tubes

• High efficiency washer and bedding line dried

• Most lights replaced with compact fluorescent bulbs,(CFL's), and some LED's

• Solar lights on the balcony and walkways

• Many home-grown fruits used in jams, juices, toppings

• Our own veggies and herbs seasonally

• Local "happy" eggs from chickens that roam

• We recycle and compost

• Natural and non-toxic cleaning supplies used

• No chemicals used on lawn or garden

• Individual heating/airconditioning controls

• Fans overhead and windows that open for cooling

• Smoke-free
